What determines the rent within this range:
- Demand for ride-hailing services in the province: the higher the expected turnover per vehicle, the higher the rent the contract can support.
- What the lease includes. The typical figure is for the licence alone; if the owner also provides the vehicle, the monthly payment increases and it’s advisable to specify in the contract who pays for what.
- Contract length and creditworthiness. Longer contracts and proof of creditworthiness (or driving record) allow for better lease rate negotiations. The standard market deposit is two months’ rent.
